Corocoro's scan for January and Febuary~

January's

The first few pages feature a bit of Solo/Burai's story and role in the game as well as a new official art of him with his "Burai Sword". All of his forms are summarized, with his Normal and EX encounters in the story and his SP form, which can be challenged after clearing the story and beating the Burai EX battle image on the Mu Continent. Burai SP packs 1900 HP. Those who have played the game will also note that this is not even the strongest version of Burai.

The scans also feature Burai's two passive abilities in-battle, the first being the Denpa-Barrier that randomly comes up and can negate all damage from a single attack; the second being his ability to cancel the Lock-On cursor. Both of these abilities, as we already know, come with the Rockman Burai forms. Finally, the pages also Burai's second form, where he summons his sword. As those of us who played the game already know, Burai will do this after falling below 50% health for his EX form and up and in this form, his fighting style changes as he gains access to new attacks such as Burai Sword, Burai Slash, and the devastating Burai Break.

The next two pages give more detailed coverage on the Rockman Burai forms. As we know, tapping on Brother Force, or in the case of Rockman Burai forms, the Badge of Loneliness, when a time-freezing card is used during a PvP Wave Battle while using Rockman Burai, Double Tribe, or Tribe King will result in KFB Counter. Other merits for the Burai forms, as we already know, include the 1HP Denpa Barrier every turn, the ability to cancel the Lock On Cursor, no elemental weakness, and +50 sword affinity, and demerits include loss of elemental-card affinity, use of Mega Cards, Real Brothers, Kizuna Force Big-Bang, and using KFB Counter will cancel the form.

The pages also list the locations of the 1st, 5th, and 6th pieces of the Badge of Loneliness, Legend Master Shin's comments on Rockman Burai, an ad for the game's Perfect Navigation Guide, and the Angou Mail for the Burai SP battle card, which you can find in the guides section of the boards.

The next page features a bit on Wave Masters 2008. The full schedule goes as follows:
January 13: Kyou Sera Dome @ Osaka
January 19 & 20: Makuhari Messe @ Tokyou
January 27: Nagoya Dome @ Nagoya
February 3: Yahoo!JAPAN Dome @ Fukuoka

Rockman Burai forms will be allowed and once again, there will be age catergories (Junior and Senior class) and free-play open class for fun. Wave/Touch Command cards and Best Combos are not allowed in the Junior and Senior class.

First prize is the data for the King Grandeau mega-card, which features the Tribe King attacking three times, first with flame towers, then a rain of Fuuma Shuriken, and finishing with a slash from the Berserk Sword, for 120 x 3 damage. As you can tell by the description, the card is capable of dealing fire-elemental, wood-elemental, and electric-elemental damage. Second place winners will receive the Brother Data of First Rockman, whose portrait features the classic 8-bit Rockman we all love. Having him in your Brother Band will boost your Kizuna Ryoku by +1300! Its favorites for Brother Force include Paralyze Stage, Attack Panel, Buster Panel, and Goat Kung-Fu EX.

The last page for this month's scoop includes images of Wave Command cards, including the Thousand Kick giga card, Leo Kingdom GX, Burai Sword, and Muramasa Blade. The last three can be obtained in the upcoming Ultimate Star Packs. There's also a short explanation on how Blank Cards work and a screenshot which reveals the location of a Blank Card inside the Bus Station Waves in Parallel Kodama Town. CoroCoro 1 also comes with the actual card of Thousand Kick.

---------------------
Febuary's

The flap also includes an explanation on DX bosses. Those who have already played through and beaten the game will know that when inputting a DX Boss's card code via the Touch Command System, an SP boss will be promoted to DX form. To access the Touch Command system, press the Select Button while viewing War Rock's screen from the pause menu. In order to fight Empty DX, you must first clear the game and then head to the end of the Bermuda Labyrinth and beat Empty EX. Wave Out and return to the area. Instead of having a chance at Empty SP for a random encounter, you may find yourself face-to-face with a golden Empty DX, who boasts 4500 HP, even more than Ra-Mu x-alpha! The promotion stays in effect until you turn off the game.

As for the larger scans themselves, the first two pages highlight certain features of battling, such as the Kesaranpasaran Battle card, the Hammer weapon battle card, the returning Giga Mine, the shield, the Sky High Colosseum, the use of Ability Waves, the 13 total transformations in the game, all along with 3D action.

The next two pages talk about battles. There is mention of the three most important variables: The version you are playing (which determines your transformations), your folder, and Ability Waves. The CoroCoro staff also present a set they like to use for each version. For Dinosaur version, the staff has set up a "Bakudan Combat" (Bomb Combat) Rockman. It boasts 1500 base HP and centers around cards such as Attack Panel, Heat Upper, and Break Count Bomb, which returns from the previous game, as well as Fire Dinosaur's ability to add +30 to fire cards and charge all cards for an additional +50 damage. Abilities to use include HP boosts and a Charge Zetsuen buster. For Shinobi version, the staff likes to use "Senjutsu Sniper" (Tactical Sniper) Rockman. With a default 1000 HP, this setup makes use of Mega Cards, the Charge Paralyze buster ability, Uragiri no Susume to steal enemy Mega Cards, and Darkness Hole to instantly drain 500 HP. Staff members who like Berserk Version use "Denbou Sword" (Electric Resistance Sword) Rockman, which boasts the default 1000 HP and combines Train Combo with multiple Berserk Swords for a devastating effect when used with Burai Berserk's +50 to swords. Aura combined with HOly Panels make good defense and Ability Waves include First Barrier and Reflect. Once again, there's an ad for the Perfect Navigation Guide on these pages.

The next page lists four sample Best Combos made by the CoroCoro staff. The first is called "Tai Invisible Combo" (Anti-Invisible Combo) and makes use of Stealth Laser 1 and two Voltic Eye 1s for a barrage of invisible-piercing electric attacks. The next is called "3 Zokusei Combo" (Triple-attribute Combo) and starts with Chain Bubble 2, followed by Elec Slash, which will do double damage to a bubbled opponent, and then a Whistle to bring the enemy up close, and finally a Heat Upper attack. The next combo is "Oni Meteor Combo" (Relentless Meteor Combo), which uses Paralyze Stage, and then a Stealth Laser to automatically hit the target. The Paralyze panel will take effect upon Stealth Laser, stunning the opponent and reverting to a normal panel. The next card in the combo is Silver Meteor, which directs nine powerful meteors to the normal panels in the last three rows. Since there is only one normal panels in the area (i.e. the one that was activated by Stealth Laser right before), all nine meteors will home in on the stunned opponent for massive damage. Finally, there's "Goat Kung-Fu Hiougi Combo" (Goat Kung Fu Hidden Mystery Combo). It starts off with a Needle Rush 2, followed by two Green Carpet cards, used in a manner that will result in 12 grass panels occupying the battle field. Finishing off is a Goat Kung-Fu SP card, which will power-up with +5 per grass panels you have laid. With 12 grass panels and Goat Kung-Fu being able to max out at 60x4 damage, you can have Goat Kung-Fu deal 120 damage per Shadow Smash with this setup!

The page after once again covers Wave Masters 2008 with information already seen in CoroCoro 1. The Wave Masters 2008 will soon update with more information on the event. For now, Capcom's official Ryuusei no Rockman 2 site already has videos up from the Osaka event. Take a look if you want to see some really intense Wave Battling. The page also lists details on how to obtain pieces #2, 3, and 4 of the Badge of Loneliness. As with the other pieces, their locations can be found on the RnR2 Guides section of the boards.

Finally, the last two pages have details on the secret scenario. Nothing new to those of us who have already played through it (and a walkthrough is available in the RnR2 guides section of the board) but featured are art pieces of Auriga General and Apollon Flame, two UMAs (though Auriga is a constellation and Apollon is based on Apollo, neither of which fit in with the theme set by the other UMAs) who have merged with Errand soldiers and taken over the parallel world. On the same pages, there is also an advertisement for the Ultimate Star pack, which include Burai Sword, Muramasa Blade, Zetsumetsu Meteor, the AM Satellite GX cards, as well as all the mega cards from the first game and more.

Other than the scans, CoroCoro 2 also comes with the first chapter of the new Ryuusei no Rockman Tribe manga! With the first arc coming to an end with the 15th chapter, this new arc introduces new characters. Thunder Berserk of the Ryuusei no Rockman Tribe (Shooting Star Rockmen Tribe) makes his way over to the Mu continent and challenges the leader of the guard, Yeti Blizzard, for access. Berserk wishes to fight with Burai, who single-handedly wiped out his Tribe, leaving himself, Fire Dinosaur, and Green Shinobi as the only apparent survivors.
